How To Make Your First $100k On LinkedIn
If the answer was content, you would have done it by now.
If the answer was content, you would have done it by now.
If the answer was sending pushy pitches in the DMs you wouldn’t be reading this.
I’m going to share with you my strategy which I use with my clients to go from achieving nothing to converting and winning clients.
The fundamental mistake
A lot of people think that to win clients on LinkedIn, they need to “get good at LinkedIn”. That’s bad thinking. It leaves you chasing the tactics, buying course after course and ultimately trying to keep up with the algorithm and trends.
That is exhausting.
Instead you need to reframe LinkedIn. It’s just a room full of people. For you to be successful in that room, you need a couple of good conversations with the right people.
Making your first $100k on LinkedIn means engaging with the right people in that room and moving offline into a conversation.
So stop worrying about learning the depths of LinkedIn.
Do this instead...
Pick a problem people want to solve
The hardest gig in town is selling a solution to a problem people don’t want to solve.
I’ve met a lot of brilliant experts struggling on LinkedIn, who a clinging to solving a problem people aren’t motivated to fix. It’s like trying to flog a dead horse.
The more abstract the problem, the more education and marketing you’ll have to do. If you’re not making money on LinkedIn, the last thing you want to be doing is trying to build a market for a problem people don’t see they need to solve.
What skills, knowledge or expertise do you have?
Can you map it to a painful problem people are motivated to solve?
If they can’t see or feel the problem in their day-to-day, it’s a dead horse.
Sense check: Go look at your content and profile - what problem are you talking about most consistently? Are people actually searching for a solution to that problem online? - check forums, Google etc.
Build a solution for the problem they want to solve
This is common sense, but you’d be surprised how many times I visit peoples profiles and they have no defined solution for the problem. Just “coaching sessions” or “Strategic guidance”
If you want to make $100k in sales, you need an offer, a packaged service or offer people can read about, evaluate and decide upon. This makes it easier for people to see the value.
In my example, I have an Elite Accelerator Membership, It’s $13k and I work 1:1 to help my clients, build their offer, message and system to get lead and convert them.
If I want to make $100k, I need 8 clients.
My whole activity now is clear, I need 8 clients to make $100k.
Your offer should address the following:
The problem they want to solve
The outcome you’ll deliver
Proof you’ve done it for others
The process to get there
The cost of inaction
The price
Without this you’ll make it harder for people to see the value and make a decision. You’ll be a nice-to-have, not a must-have.
Sense check: Do you have a packaged offer people can evaluate? Is it easy to find? Does your plan and activity line up to drive demand for it?
Who is the best fit for your offer?
This is one of the common areas people fall down.
In my own case, I can help lots of different people. But If I do try to market and sell my offer to 3 or 4 personas at the same time, I risk making it more confusing.
Problems show up for different people in different ways.
In my case, I can help companies with 500 salespeople get more leads, but also can help small businesses owners. Same problem, but how that problem shows up is different.
For a large company, that is a huge problem, but the emotions involved and the specifics of their situation will be very different to that of a solopreneur.
Solopreneur = “No leads. I’m struggling to pay the mortgage, might have to get a job”
Sales Leader = “I’m off target, my team are underperforming, my job is at risk”
Same problem, but manifests and feels differently.
If I want to make it easy to get that $100k, I go after one group.
My message needs to resonate and agitate
Your message is more that your content.
It’s bigger than how you write DMs.
It’s how you align your presence and activity so that your audience see you are talking to them, you understand them and you have an answer they are looking for
Resonate = You understand my exact situation. Like a fly on the wall.
Agitate = You stir them and motivate them to take action. Tension.
Those two things should be in every element of your presence.
Profile
Content
Outreach
Offer
The mistake we make is that we think our audience will evaluate things logically, they won’t. We also make the mistake of thinking they will give us time. They won’t.
Your audience is selfish. They will not give you time because you made an effort they should take things more seriously. They will pay attention to what matters to them. If you don’t align your message to their priorities - you’ll be ignored.
Sense check: Do you speak to specific situations your audience see’s day-to-day? Are you using their language and phrasing?

Conversion system: Lead to Client
Coming back to my example before.
My Elite Accelerator is $13k, I need 8 clients to hit my $100k.
That means I need a flow of leads to support 8 clients.
LinkedIn is the start of that system - lead capture. But there is the end -to-end process you need to move them from a lead, to a call, on that call make your offer and follow up and close.
Many don’t have that process, so they either struggle to get leads or when they do get them struggle to convert them.
They have no pipe or a leaky pipe.
Depending on the strength of your system, you may need 20 leads to get a client or you might need 5 leads to get a client. The better the system the less leads you need to convert.
There are five reliable pathways to acquire leads. You’re job is not to do all of them, but to do one of them well. Too often people jump around from tactic to tactic and never really build out the processes to make a system work.
Your first $100k will come from doing ONE of these well:
Content - posting content to agitate your audience and drive inbound leads and conversation.
Social Engagement - building relationships across the platform and starting convos in the DMs
Email List / Newsletter - growing an email list / newsletter and driving calls and conversations
Hyper Targeted Prospecting - the sniper approach to outreach, more relevant and personal.
Events / Webinars - Building trust at scale and fast, then booking calls on the back end.
Reminder, success is not about doing them all, it’s about doing one of them well.
Each of these can be done in 30-mins per day.
Once you have these, now you need a system you can follow to book calls, lead those calls, present your offer and do the follow up and close the client.
Nothing in this process should be about winging it. Systems are boring, but they make you money because they enable you to repeat success.
Sense check: If you aren’t sure which path is right for you, I built a quiz to help you decide. Take the quiz to find your path: https://www.5pathstogettingclients.co.uk/quiz
