5 Proven Paths to Consistently Win Clients on LinkedIn
You’ve been showing up on LinkedIn - posting, commenting, even connecting with new people. But despite all the effort, nothing’s shifting.
You’ve been showing up on LinkedIn - posting, commenting, even connecting with new people.
But despite all the effort, nothing’s shifting.
The dream clients aren’t materialising, and the wins you see others celebrating feel like they belong to another world.
It’s frustrating, isn’t it?
You know the potential LinkedIn has, but it feels like you’re locked out of the room where it all happens.
Instead of clarity, there’s noise: endless strategies, conflicting advice, and the pressure to do everything all at once.
The reality is, trying to do it all won’t get you results.
It just drains your energy, leaving you feeling stuck.
What actually works?
Choosing one approach that suits you - and sticking to it until it delivers.
That’s what changes everything.
Let’s explore five proven paths to winning clients on LinkedIn so you can find the one that fits you best.
Path 1: Webinars - Build Trust in One Session
Ever feel like people don’t really see what you bring to the table? Webinars let you demonstrate your expertise directly. Instead of talking about what you do, you show it - live, with real solutions to their problems.
Who it’s for: Coaches, consultants, and experts who want to connect with multiple people at once without feeling pushy.
How it works: Run a monthly webinar that tackles a key challenge your audience faces. Share actionable insights and provide a natural way for attendees to take the next step with you.
Why it works: Webinars create an instant connection. By the end, attendees don’t just know about your expertise - they trust it.
I love this path, it’s helped me build my brand, win clients with the least amount of invested time on social media.
It’s also one of the preferred methods I teach people inside my Social Selling Accelerator.
Path 2: Social Engagement - Build One Relationship at a Time
For some people, the idea of pitching or promoting feels downright uncomfortable. Social engagement offers a softer approach. It’s about showing up where your ideal clients are and building relationships over time.
Who it’s for: Anyone who prefers meaningful conversations to mass marketing.
How it works: Engage thoughtfully with your prospects’ posts, add value through comments, and connect when the moment feels right.
Why it works: Authentic relationships don’t feel transactional. This approach suits smaller, more specific audiences, creating trust that naturally leads to opportunities.
This is a really good fit for people who feel a bit icky about selling. It’s relationship driven and easy to do, even if you are new to social selling.
Path 3: Newsletters - The Long-Game Connection
Do you feel like your expertise isn’t reaching the right people? Newsletters can be the bridge. With this approach, you stay in touch with your audience, sharing value and keeping them engaged until they’re ready to take action.
Who it’s for: Subject matter experts who enjoy writing and want to build credibility over time.
How it works: Send regular newsletters filled with useful advice and stories. No hard pitches - just consistent, high-quality content that earns trust.
Why it works: People come to rely on your expertise and reach out when the time is right. It’s the perfect way to nurture leads at scale.
I do this one too, it’s a bit more long burn, but you get easier converting leads and it helps elevate you as a trusted expert. Be warned though, the ease of conversion is because you put in quite an investment of time. So there are swings and roundabouts with this one.
Path 4: Hyper-Personalised Outreach - The Direct Route to Results
Sometimes, you know exactly who you want to work with. Personalised outreach helps you connect with them in a way that’s tailored, direct, and highly effective - without feeling cold or salesy.
Who it’s for: Those offering high-ticket services who thrive on precision and personal connection.
How it works: Research your prospects, engage with them thoughtfully, and craft tailored messages that address their specific challenges.
Why it works: When done well, it feels more like offering a solution than making a pitch. The personal touch stands out and creates immediate impact.
This route is FAST, effective but you have to be ready to do some research. This is about going in for the kill, but using media and personalisation on override to show you can add value.
It’s a bit more salesy but it’s quicker and the conversion rate is high.
Path 5: Content Creation - Establish Authority and Let Clients Come to You
Posting on LinkedIn might feel like shouting into the void, but when done strategically, it positions you as the go-to expert in your field. This is the slow-build approach that turns visibility into credibility.
Who it’s for: People who enjoy sharing ideas and are willing to invest time in building an engaged audience.
How it works: Post consistently, addressing your audience’s challenges with real solutions. Over time, your posts attract the right people to you.
Why it works: By sharing value without expecting anything in return, you create trust. Clients come to you ready to work together.
Everyone wants this path, but few have the commitment to see it through. It involves a lot of time and investment upfront before you see the consistent returns. My LinkedIn generates me around £500k of new business every year, but the content takes me 1-2 hours per day.
It’s worth it, but if you are looking at this as a quick way to get clients, think again. It brings me the easiest and best leads hands down.
It is a scary one to be relying on, as algorithms and platforms change. If content is your main thing, you leave yourself vulnerable.
